15-time major champion, Tiger Woods will partner with his son Charlie as they return to the PNC Championship for a third time, having finished in seventh place in 2020 and second in 2021.
Joining Team Woods are nine-time major winner Gary Player with grandson, Jordan, 2009 Open Champion Stewart Cink with son Connor and 6-time major champion Nick Faldo with son Matthew, completing the 20-team line up for the 2022 PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando, Grande Lakes, Dec.15-18.
Woods commented, “We have been looking forward to this week all year and we can’t wait to team up together for our third PNC Championship. This is such a special opportunity as a dad to get to compete with my son against so many golfing greats and their family members. It is going to be a very special week and I know that Charlie and I will have a blast.”
IMG’s Alastair Johnston, the executive chairman of the tournament commented, “Everyone has seen Tiger do things on the golf course that only a few people can relate to, but here at the PNC Championship in the last couple of years, we have seen a partnership evolve between a dad and his son to which thousands can relate. We are delighted that because of golf, we can share that experience.”

The PNC Championship is operated in partnership by IMG and NBC Sports. Jon Miller, NBC Sports, added: “We are counting down the days to present the PNC Championship across our platforms in just a few short weeks, and having Tiger and Charlie return for a third time as part of this year’s field of major champions competing alongside their loved ones, only adds to the special nature of this celebrated event.”
The tournament, which will be broadcast live across NBC, GOLF Channel and Peacock, attracts major champions whose victories this year span from 1959 to 2021. This year, the PNC Championship includes a field that have won a remarkable 73 Major titles. With only 20 teams competing, players past and present have shown unprecedented interest in campaigning for a spot in the star-studded line-up.
This is the 11th year PNC Bank has been the tournament’s title sponsor. The event was renamed the PNC Championship in 2020, reflecting the world class talent at this inclusive family tournament that showcases the special bonds that the love of golf creates.
The PNC Championship has continued to evolve since the inaugural tournament in 1995, when ten major winners gathered with their sons.
