Overview
The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is set on 6,000 acres of farmland on New Zealand’s North Island. The facility features 22 guest suites and a two bedroom Owner’s Cottage. The main lodge features breathtaking 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, the offshore Cavalli Islands, and Cape Brett.
Facilities include the 18 hole championship golf course, two Astroturf tennis courts, two swimming pools (one indoor and one outdoor infinity pool), as well as a spa and fully equipped fitness centre. The property also features three secluded swimming beaches, a waterfall, and a magnificent Kauri Tree. The 5-Star facility is part of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux Collection and is ranked as the #1 hotel in the South Pacific and #17 in the world.
The accompanying golf course features eighteen holes designed by David Harman. Fifteen holes have spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, six of which are played alongside cliffs that plunge to the sea. The course played host to the Shell's Wonderful World of Golf Match between Michael Campbell and Fred Couples in 2003, the PGA Tour’s Kiwi Challenge in 2008, and has received numerous accolades and awards including being ranked among the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World, and its current ranking as the #1 Golf Resort in the World by Golf Digest.
