Tahquitz Creek

Palm Springs, United States.

1885 Golf Club Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264

Overview

Tahquitz Creek is a 36-hole golf facility located in the South end of Palm Springs. Tahquitz Creek offers two distinctly differently course layouts. The Legend is the original Palm Springs Municipal Golf Course built in the late 1950’s by William Bell. This traditional style layout meanders through some of Palm Springs’ nicer, older homes with tall, tree lined fairways and picturesque mountain views. There are no tricks to this course. All the holes are straight-away with little to no elevation change from tee to green.

There is only one water hole on the course, but do not let that fool you into thinking this is an easy course. With the greens sloping from back to front, long par 3’s, and out of bounds coming into play on every hole, a stray golf shot can severely hurt your scores. The Resort is our newest course, built in 1995 buy well known architect Ted Robinson, Jr. This 6800-yard, par 72, desert links style layout with stunning mountain views along rolling terrain offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. The Resort has become a local favorite over the years with its island fairway on #7 and the signature par-3 #8 over water along with a number of other waterscapes and well placed bunkers. The Resort rewards the skilled shot maker with small greens, but also yields forgiveness with a more open feel off the tee for the drives that get away from you.
