Defending Champion Jennifer Kupcho will be joined by 2021 Champion Patty Tavatanakit, 2020 Champion Mirim Lee, 2019 winner Jin Young Ko and 2011 Champion Stacy Lewis at The Chevron Championship, the first LPGA Tour Major of 2023. The event is managed by IMG.

The tournament will take place, for the first time, at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Greater Houston area on April 20-23, 2023, with the later date ensuring network coverage on NBC.

The world’s best players are eager to claim the first victory over the renowned Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at the opening Major of their season.

Jennifer Kupcho, who finished two shots clear of the field to claim her first Major at last year’s Championship, explained, “It would definitely be a big deal to win the very first Championship held at Carlton Woods, and I know we are all excited to get to know the new home of The Chevron Championship. It was an honor to be the last winner in the tournament's history at Mission Hills and I'm looking forward to the challenge of defending my title on this new stage."

The 2023 US Solheim Cup Captain, Stacy Lewis added, “It’s a Solheim Cup year which I know adds to everyone’s eagerness to get out there competing. It definitely increases the tension that the first Major of the season will be taking place at both a brand new venue and also a few weeks later than usual. I think it kind of shakes up everyone’s approach to the first part of the season, whether they have the Solheim Cup in mind or not. I feel very proud that Houston has been chosen as The Chevron Championship’s new home and host to our first Major of the year, and I look forward both to competing and to welcoming everyone to my hometown.”

A key feature of this year’s Championship will be The Chevron Championship Junior Legacy Pro-Am hosted by three-time winner of The Chevron Championship and tournament favorite, Amy Alcott. A signature program as part of Chevron’s partnership with the LPGA Foundation and commitment to creating access and opportunities for junior female golfers, this special event will provide the inspiring opportunity to play alongside some of the greatest players in LPGA Tour history.

Chevron will also hold a camp in late March for young girls focused on STEM and golf, as well as an LPGA*USGA Girls Golf clinic on the Saturday of Championship week offering junior girls the opportunity to experience hands-on instruction from members of the LPGA Professionals. They will be introduced to the Five E’s of Girls Golf - as well as the getting to watch the world’s best women battle it out on the third day of the Championship.

World of Golf Hall of Famer and five time Major Champion Amy Alcott commented: “I am delighted to be the host of The Chevron Championship Junior Legacy Pro-Am and look forward to being at Carlton Woods in April to be a part of the new era of this great Championship. I am pleased that Chevron is honoring the past Champions and true legends of the LPGA in the Championship’s new chapter in Texas. Chevron is also making a vital impact by inspiring the next generation of young women in the Houston community by sponsoring the Girls Junior clinic. I think we all really appreciate how much they cherish the history of this impactful event.”

Chevron U.S.A. Inc. became the new title sponsor of The Chevron Championship (formerly the ANA Inspiration) through a six-year relationship with the LPGA with their first edition as title sponsor taking place in 2022 won by Jennifer Kupcho.
