JOHN PAK TURNS PROFESSIONAL AND SIGNS WITH WME SPORTS

American amateur star John Pak announced today that he has both turned professional and signed with WME Sports for worldwide management to represent all his commercial activities. 

​

After a stellar amateur career which saw him represent the United States in the Walker Cup in 2019 and 2021 and the Palmer Cup team in 2020, Pak will launch his professional career having been given a sponsor’s exemption into the Palmetto Championship at Congaree this week, with a second invite confirmed for the Travelers Championship. 

​

Born in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Pak moved to Orlando for the last three years of high school to further his golf career. He graduates from Florida State having majored in Social Science after four standout years in which he won eight collegiate tournaments, was a four-time All American, the 2021 ACC Player of the Year, reached a high of No.2 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings and finished his college career as No.1 on the PGA Tour University Ranking.

The low amateur at the 2020 US Open and winner of the 2021 Jack Nicklaus Award for the national college player of the year, the 2021 Fred Haskins Award for the outstanding collegiate golfer as voted on by players, coaches and media as well as the 2021 Ben Hogan Award Presented by PNC Bank based collegiate, amateur and professional accomplishments, Pak will work with WME Sports agent Brent Hamilton, and has deals already confirmed with TaylorMade and Nike.

I have dreamt about being a professional golfer for as long as I can remember so this is an exciting time for me! I have loved every minute of my time as a Seminole and am very grateful to my coaches, teammates, and the whole Florida State community for helping me reach this moment, but now I can’t wait to get started. I picked WME Sports to represent me because of their long-time expertise in golf as well as what their wider network can offer, and I am looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”
