The 6th edition of the Azerbaijan Open at IMG managed Dreamland Golf Club was held on the 24th and 25th of September and we were delighted to have welcomed back Oceaneering as a platinum sponsor. The format of play was in-line with previous Azerbaijan Open tournaments, a 36-hole Team Stableford Competition, teams comprised of 4 players.

 

Day One: The format for day 1 was the best 2 scores from 4 to count. Day 1 leaders were the team of ORCA consisting of Craig Dunn, Chris Cooper, Markus Brake and Pascal de Garrigues with 93pts. In second place was the Oceaneering team. On course over the weekend, players were treated to the TEN/11 Player Lounge at the Midway Café to keep golfers well fuelled. Players were able to relax in the ambience of Nineteen Terrace while enjoying live music by local musician Lala Zeynalli.

Day Two: The format for round 2 was all four Stableford scores to count, players were faced with windy conditions but that did not stop some wonderful scores from returning! Day 2 runner-ups were the Socar Cape team with a score of 115pts. The Socar Cape team received weekend stay vouchers for Hilton Baku. Day 2 winning team of Rapid Solutions consisted of Danny Lee, Dean McEwan, Leo Troup and Thomas Wright with 117pts, each receiving a 3-day active detox at the highly acclaimed Chenot Palace Gabala. Gold Sponsor Bazar Store provided a total of 2,400manat in gift voucher cards which were distributed among the day 2 and overall winners.

The CHAMPIONS of Azerbaijan!

It’s with great pride we applaud the 2022 Azerbaijan Open Champions of Team ORCA, winning by a margin of 7pts with scores of 93 + 115, congratulations to, Craig Dunn, Chris Cooper, Markus Brake and Pascal de Garrigues.

The Azerbaijan Open Champions received some amazing prizes including dinner vouchers for Black City, Baku Marriott Hotel Boulevard, 150AZN Bazar Store vouchers, TEN/11 VIP discount cards and the opportunity to play at one of the most iconic courses to feature on the DP World Tour.
